Lyn Nelson

President

Lyn started playing golf by taking a beginning golf class at San Jose State, where the golf bug bit. She eventually earned a spot on the San Jose State’s Lady Spartan Golf team and played alongside standouts Patty Sheehan and Juli Inkster. From there, she moved on to become General Manager of Half Moon Bay Golf Links, and was recruited to serve as the first woman Board Member of the Northern California Golf Association. She was then hired to serve as CEO of the NCGA for nearly five years to oversee the NCGA, Poppy Holding, and the Foundation while also managing the renovation of Poppy Hills Golf Course. Currently, Lyn works for the City of San Francisco, appointed by Mayor Ed Lee to oversee the City’s 6 golf courses in the Property Management Division of the Recreation and Parks Department.
