Regional Women's Golf Groups
PWGA supports women amateur golfers on the public courses in Northern California. In addition to supporting several benevolent projects, we provide educational, competitive, and social opportunities for our members.
Yearly PWGA sponsors six major tournaments for our eighteen-hole membership and two for our nine hole members. Additionally, play days are conducted in each of our seven geographical areas. Individual members earn points at each play day with the hope of being selected for the coveted six Winner's Circle Medallions ... three Low Net and three Low Gross awards. The Nine-Hole Director oversees 30 plus clubs that have selected a nine-hole handicap.
PWGA is a not for profit 501(c)(7) membership association. We retain the services of an Executive Director to administer the business details of running the association office and assist the Board of Directors.
The Women’s Golf Association of Northern California provides educational, competitive and social opportunities to support and promote women’s amateur golf.
The WGANC strives to accomplish the following objectives:
- To conduct annual championships and other tournaments and activities. These competitions promote sportsmanship and good fellowship among our members.
- To provide a governing body to maintain uniformity in the interpretation of the Rules of Golf, Golf Handicap System and Course Rating in accordance with the United States Golf Association.
- To promote and financially support Junior Girls’ programs.
- To compile and publish the Green Book in order to provide members with a directory and calendar of events.
The EWGA, also known as the Executive Women's Golf Association, is a Florida not-for-profit 501(c)(6) corporation serving an international membership. The EWGA exists to connect women to learn, play and enjoy golf for business and for fun.
