Our Mission Statement
The San Francisco Mayor’s Women’s Golf Council was founded in July of 2014 by Mayor Ed Lee in support of his passion for San Francisco Golf and his interests of seeing the game promoted and played more by women at San Francisco Golf Courses. A Board was created to form an infrastructure of volunteers to implement the Mayor’s goals in making San Francisco “the most women friendly Golf City in America”. This website is intended to be your one-stop shop for women's golf events, tournaments, and organizations in the Bay Area. Please join our mailing list for future updates!

Golf in the Bay Area During COVID-19 (updated October 2020)
Golf has kept its reputation as one of the perfect sports for getting some exercise and camaraderie while social distancing. Keep the following points in mind as you get out for a round in the Bay Area:
TIPS FOR GOLFING IN THESE TIMES:
- Checking in for tee times have been made as contactless as possible, and face masks are required near the clubhouse
- Electric/gas carts are not to be shared, if they are available for rent, UNLESS plastic partitions have been put in place
- All golfers must remain 6 ft apart at all times
- No objects are to be touched on the course. The pins are to stay in, cups have been modified (either with pool noodles or a golf ball lifter within the cup) such that ball retrieval is touch-less, there are no bunker rakes (bunkers shots are to be played as either ground under repair, waste bunkers, or as preferred lies, depending on local rules), and all ball washers and coolers have been removed.
TIPS FOR GOLFING IN THESE TIMES:
- Walk if possible (and bring your own pushcart, though those remain pretty hot items these days!)
- Forego all formal handshakes - a wave or bow will do
- We do this all the time because we're polite, but please don't retrieve other people's equipment for them!
- Bring your own food and water, because many courses may not have their cafes open (and all coolers have been removed)
- Do not linger before or after your round - most golf courses recommend that you arrive no earlier than 20 minutes before your tee time
