Public Golf in SF
San Francisco is a city that actively promotes and supports Women’s Golf with special programs and clinics to introduce women and juniors to the game. Mayor Ed Lee in July of 2014 formed The San Francisco Mayor’s Women’s Golf Council to specifically promote Women’s Golf with aspirations of having San Francisco be recognized as the most women friendly city in America. This initiative is accomplished by making sure the golf courses are welcoming to women and that you have fun experiences at our local courses.
San Francisco boasts ownership of six golf courses, five within the city limits and one just outside in neighboring Pacifica. Each of these courses are unique in their designs and provide enjoyable golf experiences for players of any skill set, including beginners.
In addition, if you are a San Francisco resident or property owner, you are eligible to purchase a resident card for $90.00 from the City (Resident Cards are only sold at City Hall and are valid for two years) that provide excellent discounts at the City’s golf courses. It’s a fantastic program that every golfer should take advantage of. For more information go to the City’s Park and Rec website at www.sfpark.org for details. Resident cards are not sold at any of the golf courses - you can only obtain one from City Hall.
